I am ecstatic to live on my own. However, I am not devoid of reservation. I will miss home terribly. But it is not leaving home that frightens. After all I am young and ready to take on the world! Ahem, or so I hope. I once had to write a paper on "What Worries Me the Most" I agonized for weeks over what to say. Should I confess to a real deep dark fear? Should I make something up? Do I have to tell the embarrassing truth? Or is there an easier way out? In the end I ended up expressing a genuine fear, but one that wasn't too personal. There is nowhere for me to hide now, so I am just going to get on with it and tell you. Of all the anxieties of college to choose from, what worries me most is that I won't ever be alone. I love to be alone. Boy, do I love to be completely alone. To listen to the sound of silence. To snuggle up with a book or my laptop and know that I am deliciously alone. To sing at the top of my lungs with no one else's ears for my song to fall upon but mine and God's. You see, I need my alone time to thrive. How will I ever find privacy in a dorm? Where will I hide? Don't get me wrong, I love to socialize (ok, I sometimes love to socialize). I am not a total introvert. I get cabin fever too. But I need my space to recharge. Space to recharge. That is what I need. A little sanctuary to hunker down in. I am rambling too much.
What is your story?
Sincerely,
Daydreamer
